Here We Go Again
Aren't we getting just a little too politically-correct?...Or is it just oversensitivity?
While I feel terrible for the people who lost family members in the Kentucky plane crash, the skit was simply a spoof on the TV show LOST. The skit, by the way, didn't even show a plane crash. I truly believe that for someone's comment or action (or in this case, skit) to be considered "insensitive," it would mean that the person would need to do so with mal-intent, which was obviously not the case in this situation.
If this is the way we, as a nation, are going to start thinking of situations such as this, then Hollywood might as well stop making movies, television shows, and music...because there will never be a time when our lives will not relate in some way to what we are watching or listening to. It's human nature to think of your own life's experiences when you view images or hear lyrics...but when you take it out of context, it's not fair to blame that artist, actor, comedian, whatever, as being insensitive.

I agree Col. I think people are blowing things was out of proportion. This skit was made before the plane crash and do we really think that Hollywood is looking at every news story in every hick town in the US?!? If they needed to worry about offended people with every movie they made, all of them would be out of business. Americans need to CHILL OUT!!! It's just a skit!
I agree with you Colleen. AND very well put I would say. People will always find the "bad" in a situation, no matter what it is, and blow it up just to cause waves. If you don't have the common sense which people lack nowadays, to know the difference between acting out something and the real thing...you have a problem. Like Michelle said, "Chill Out". man

GOD FORBID YOU MAKE A COMEDY SKIT OR RAMBLE ON IN A DRUNKEN STATE OF MIND THAT SOMEWONE WON'T BE OFFENDED BY IT! THEN THE BANDWAGON STARTS UP AND YOU HAVE PEOPLE HANGIN' ON FOR DEAR LIFE LEST THEY GET LABLED. IN FACT I'VE OFFENDED SOMEONE ALREADY WITH "GOD FORBID"! MAYBE THIS WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE IF PEOPLE COULD BE TRULY HONEST WITH EACH OTHER. GET IT OUT AND CLEAR THE AIR AND STOP PRETENDING. MOST OF THE SO CALLED "RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE" ARE THE VERY ONES THAT ARE THE MOST BIGOTED. THEY HIDE BEHIND THEIR TRUE ISSUES. ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS STIR UP A MEDIA FRENZY TO PUSH THEIR AGENDA ALONG AND THERE YOU HAVE IT - SHAMELESS CONTROVERSY! THE MEDIA LOVES IT. IT'S A CHANCE FOR THE SO CALLED LEGITIMATE VENUES TO GO "NATIONAL INQUIRER". THEY THEN HIDE BEHIND THE CLOAK OF NEWS AND BRINGING IT TO THE PEOPLE. BULLSHIT!
