Currently my book club is reading a book called Father Joe by Tony Hendra. It is a memoir of the author's experience with a Benedictine Monk--Dom Joseph Warrilow (Father Joe). I have not gotten very far into the book yet, but I do know that I like it! Even though it is a memoir, it also reads much like a historical biography. Much of the beginning talks about Hendra's own experience as a Catholic living in England and the way Catholics (specifically Irish ones) were treated, in general. Although I haven't gotten to what I am assuming will be the best part of the book, I am glad to be reading this. It is not what I expected it to be. I think the theme of this book will be much more than just religion.
